Neo Skin Scanner - An Introduction

This miracle polymer was fully compatible with all tissue types, and is responsible for saving thousands of lives. Burnt skin of fire victims could now be regenerated painlessly without fear of tissue rejection. The polymer, trademarked "Neo Skin" by its creators, also revolutionalized the cosmetic reconstruction industry. One could simply walk into a plastic surgeon's office, and leave with a new youthful face a few hours later.

Espionage agents also capitalized on Neo Skin's flexibility, creating lifelike faces, fingerprints, and even retinas, after some modifications on the implantation processes. These spy masks were completely lifelike, and could circumvent all existing biometric devices which are based on face, fingerprint, and retinal scan identification.

Alarmed at this development, the United States Government funded a research effort to create new biometric devices that could detect these Neo Skin Spy Masks. Results were inconclusive, and no single device could distinguish real skin and New Skin with regularity.

The researchers refocused their efforts to discover other processes to be used for biometric scans. The result was a body-wide scanner, which combined palm prints, retinas, body heat, and DNA scans. Individuals were required to strip, enter the machine, and press his or her body against the scanners. The results are compared against a national database, and could routinely be validated within seconds' time.

The DNA scan created the most controversy. Since it required large amounts of DNA in a short period of time, the researchers decided to use genitourinary liquids. Males were tested by their semen, women by their vaginal secretions.

The typical machine is outfitted with an intelligent auto-fitting aperture, where a man could insert his penis. The machine would measure the penis length, width, and stimulates the organ with very fast vibrations. Orgasms typically result in 30 seconds, and the sperm is collected into the DNA scanner. For the opposite sex, the hole is replaced by a rubber rod. A woman would insert the rod into her vagina, and push a button to begin vibration. Again, orgasms result in a very short time, and vaginal secretions are sucked up by the rod, where it would be diverted to the DNA scanner.

A special problem exist for impotent men and the eunuch community. The researchers solved it by providing another DNA scanner, similar to the rubber rod, but one to be inserted into the anus. The device would function similarly as the rod, and orgasms are theoretically possible.

Due to the threat of AIDS and other sexually-transmitted diseases, everyone is provided with a condom to put over their penis, for men, or over the rod, for women. Once identification is complete, the condoms could simply be thrown away.

The final stumbling block, young children, was resolved by Congress. Since young boys could not provide the genetic material necessary for the DNA scan sequence, a law was passed exempting children below 14 years old from such scans. They would undergo another process, one which utilize their saliva instead.

The machine was quickly adopted by the United States Government for use in airports and government buildings. In a few years, it has become a standard fixture in all developed nations. Regarded as a necessary inconvenience in homeland security, the religion lobby has all but died out, with the exception of a few fringe groups.

The developers never realized that their creation also sport another "feature," which was included in all biometric machines manufactured and sold. This feature was inserted into the design specifications by a shadowy entity, and could be activated by a special broadcast through the scanner's wide-area network.
