In the dying days of the Galactic Empire, a large colony ship was lifting off of Trantor attempting escape before the final sacking. Enemy raiders were firing on the ship, it had no choice but to attempt the jump to hyperspace.

The one thing you must understand about hyperspace is that it is affects by gravity in a very big way. In fact you cannot be too close to a system before making the jump or else it could be very dangerous. In addition to this at hyperspatial speeds gravity became a repulsive force.

At the moment the ship had to make the jump in haste the raiders had made a shot that their engine exhaust. The chain reaction between the repulsive gravity of the nearby star, the extra power absorbed from the blast, and the inaccuracy of in system interstellar jumps caused the ship to propel far further than it had expected.

They had arrived in another galaxy. They had arrived in a system that had a planet that could be made livable. They had no choice but to crash land because of damage from their ship.

They soon found out what would be the fact of life here. They could only sustain a small population because much of the planet was wasteland. Only where they landed had a tropical rain forest. They could attempt to increase the livable area, but it would take thousands of years with their resourcelessness.

In a few short years they had managed to construct a small community. Buildings were easy to build because of the amount of metal their damaged ship had. They did not know how to make anything of elaborate garb. All they had around were trees and some grass land. So by this time their clothing had worn out and virtually everyone went naked because of the temperature.

In the next fourty years or so population had increased dramatically because of the new situation with horny boys with no clothing to speak of.

The colony elders had to make a decision. It was likely to be a hard one to make. There were no materials to make clothes out of, and their food production would be maxxed out in as little as two generations.

They already centrally education their youth. So it was decided that castration was the only way. But they could not castrate everybody, and they would not want to castrate any of the smartest ones. For if they did that their population would only get dumber.

The colony had 15000 people of age, and 7500 under age. The immediate need was to be able to classify all of the young people. The first effect was to tag and number every boy and girl under 15. Over that age it was decided was too old to change anything.

Starting with the oldest to youngest they pupils had a number etched near their right shoulder-blade with a hot iron. The boys then had a tag clamped inbetween their testicles. The girls would have it clamped into the side of their clitoris.

Education was split into three stages. The pupils younger than 4 were just being taken care of with some introductory education. Pupils younger than 10 were taughts the regular courses plus chess and other skill games.

Upon graduating the second level the pupils would be fit with their life deciding device. In the case of boys it was simply a clip that went around their testicles. In the case of girls it was a device that surrounded their tubes.

The elders decided that the pupils would have to prove themselves smart enough and skilled enough to procreate.

The first challenge was marks. The pupils that were less than 60% in tests were set for the castration process to clip them at some random time.

The second challenge was games. There were four types of games to choose from.

Chess was the first. The pupils would play and when there was a checkmate the pupil would be clipped right when the move was made.

Blackjack was the second. The pupils would play with 200 chips and whoever ended up with zero at the end out of three players were clipped.

Poker was the third. There would be five players, and 200 chips to bet. Like Blackjack the clip happened right when a player lost their last hand.

Soccer was the fourth. In this case there were 10 players on each side, and the first team to get 10 points got to see the players on the other team all clipped. In the case of the boys you could see them drop on the field.

The third and final challenge was behaviour. Girls were exempt from this challenge.

The boys who did this were essentially in a circle of beds with holes in them. They were instructed to have sex with the hole. Those that could satasfy the hole would be let free. Those that did not would be clipped right as they were ejaculating.

After a few years there were only 500 of the smartest boys surviving intact. The elders approved of themselves in the operation they had started.

The colony exists to this day.
