Since taking over the property from her mother, Lady Terri wasted no time in establishing herself as the Mistress in charge of the property. Throughout the year, she tried to turn the property around from a deficit to one of profit. Her business was small crops, such as local fruits and vegetables that were sold at farm stands. For a long time, the business faltered off, as there was not enough demand for locally grown produce. Although demand hadn't really come back much, it hadn't fallen off any more, either. Still, she plugged along, working her slaves as best and as hard as she could. Slaves were awoken early in the morning, worked until late afternoon, then given the night off to rest. The next day it started all over again. But she really wasn't making any headway in improving the property's financial position. Now, faced with more deficits and lack of cash flow, Lady Terri faced the realization that she would have to sell one or two of her slaves to raise cash.

The male slave trade was an interesting dynamic. Slaves had value, but some slaves were worth more than others. Males in their 20's - 30's were the most valuable, and if a slave was both gelded and broken, he would command top dollar. On the other hand, older slaves or slaves that were intact were often considered a risky investment. It was thought that if a slave still had his testicles, he would be aggressive and hard to train. He would not accept orders nor would he work to his capacity. These characteristics caused sellers of intact males to get a much lower price. Lady Terri knew she would have a hard time selling her slaves, becasue she had sold off all of her eunuchs already. In her need to raise cash, she sold the best ones first, to get the best dollar. Now she only had intact slaves to work the property, but she figured if she could do the gelding herself, she might be able to get more for the slave in the long run.

She still had to determine how much the slaves were worth, so she could plan her finances accordingly. Not too far from her property was the marketplace, where women could buy food, meats, household goods, livestock, slaves and other animals. Lady Terri planned to visit the market on Thursday, because that's when the slave sales and auctions took place. Males that had been captured or just simply placed for sale by their owners were sold at these auctions. Here she would see the going prices for various types and classes of slaves. Ladies of wealth would come here and buy many slaves for their stable, while others just traded a slave or two. The auction was the best place to estimate a price for a particular type of slave, because his worth would be recognized by these women. They would pay handsomely for a good male. However, some slaves were just sold outright, at a fixed price, the way one would buy any other type of goods or products. They were usually the worst of the slaves, often crippled by their owners or just old and unable to perform to the standards of other slaves. Their owners were pleased just to get rid of them, even if it meant trading or bartering for something of worth. There was no sentimental attachment to a slave. Attending this auction, Lady Terri would get a good feel as to how much she could get for her slaves. After all, she reasoned, even though they were intact they could still work hard and they were all broken in.

The marketplace was abuzz with women from all walks of life. Women were both buying and selling their wares. There were both young and old women, women of means and women that looked like they can barely scrape by. Some were selling household goods while others had food and poultry for sale. You could tell a woman of means, as she usually had her slaves working about her, carrying her boxes and crates, and doing all of the heavy work. Lady Terri walked around, taking it all in.

Finally, Lady Terri found the area where the slave sales took place and looked over the offerings. Slaves for sale were always kept naked for the ease of inspection. They were chained at the wrists and ankles to prevent running, and the chain was secured to a piling in the ground. This way a slave could move around for his prospective buyer, but was prevented from escaping. Most had a small sign hung around their necks indicating their approximate age, features, specialties, etc. Lady Terri paused to examine a few males in particular, and she saw one or two she liked. But she knew this time she was here to see about selling her slaves. Purchases would have to wait until she was financially able to take them on.

Finding a seat, Lady Terri awaited the start of the auction. Then, precisely at 1:00, a group of 5 slaves were walked out, all under the watchful eye of the auctioneer and guardesses. When they reached a predetermined spot on the ground, they turned to face the audience. You could see they were all embarassed, standing there stark naked and in chains, while women viewed them for purchase. The women approached them and walked about them all, examining their teeth, face, hair, hands, legs, genitals, and feet. They were poked and prodded like animals. All dignity had been stripped from them as easily as their loincloths were. Suffering from extreme humilation, they all had small, shrunken penises which retreated into their foreskin. Prospective buyers felt their scrotum and testicles, to see if they were intact or recently gelded. Lady Terri watched all of this very intently, as she had never actually purchased a slave before. All of the slaves on the property belonged to her mother, and were handed down to her when she came of age.

When the review ended, the auction began. The auctioneer introduced the first lot, a male approximately 25 years old. He was intact, but the auctioneer said he was very obedient and is willing to serve his Mistress. The bidding started low, and there were few ladies bidding. Finally, the gavel dropped and the slave was sold for a mere $2,000. He was led to his new owner where he knelt by her side while she held the chain. Disheartened at the low price, Lady Terri was thinking she wouldn't be able to get much for her slaves. The auctioneer introduced another intact slave as the second lot and the bidding started, but even though this slave was a little younger, the price was still relatively low. Intact slaves just weren't worth much today.

However, the auctioneer was no fool. She knew gelded slaves were more deisrable and saved them for last. As she introduced the first eunuch, she was barely finished describing the property when the first bid was called out. Then she heard a second bid, followed by a third. The ladies were fast outbidding each other for this slave. Finally they slowed down, and when the last call was made, the slave was sold for a little over $10,000. He was brought to his new owner, who looked him over with delight. She was pleased at her purchase and described how he would be a present for her niece, who was just turning 21. Now, Lady Terri perked up since this slave sold for considerably more than the first one. The second and third eunuchs were brought forward and with similar results, were sold to proud bidders for respectable amounts.

It became obvious to Lady Terri that she would have to castrate her slaves to make them more valuable. But how would she do it? How do you castrate a male? She had never even witnessed it before, and apart from feeling the male anatomy, didn't know what to cut out or what to do. This uncertainty lasted until she overheard one of the first slave buyers negotiating to have her newly purchased slave gelded. She approached this woman and introduced herself, and the lady introduced herself as Mistress Sheri-Lynn. Lady Terri explaining that she's never seen a gelding take place, and asked if she could watch while they gelded her slave. Lady Terri noticed the slave was kneeling at Mistress Sheri-Lynn's side, but was weeping and trembling at the thought of the impending gelding. She and Mistress Sheri-Lynn spoke matter-of-factly about the procedure, paying no attention to the slave. Women were like that. They could be merciless to their slaves, but in the company of other women, were as pleasant and respectful as could be. After a few minutes of conversation, Mistress Sheri-Lynn invited Lady Terry to view the gelding. Mistress Sheri-Lynn gave her slave a tug of the leash, and the slave rose to his feet. She led him off, accompanied by Lady Terri, to the gelding area where he would feel his testicles for the last time.
