Congratulations on your purchase of Neutersol Pediatric, the safe, painless, and inexpensive way to perform home castration of boys from one year of age to the beginning of puberty. Neutersol Pediatric has been fully approved by the Federal Drug Administration for non-prescription sale to perform home neutering. It is a safe, inexpensive alternative to bilateral orchiectomy by a physician either at his office or in a hospital. No special care is required after the neutering is complete, and, unlike surgical castration, there should be no pain and only minimal discomfort. The boy may resume his normal activities immediately following the procedure. The active ingredient found in Neutersol Pediatric has been used successfully for many years by orphanages and other institutions in countries around the world for the routine castration of young boys. The active ingredient was first developed and tested for veterinary use over 30 years ago and it has been successfully used to neuter dogs, cats, and other animals for many years. Human trials began nearly 20 years ago and the drug has been proven completely safe when used as directed. The only side effect noted to date for Neutersol Pediatric (or for the Neutersol Adult version) has been a slight tenderness of the testicles for a day or two after treatment in about five percent of boys or men. Testicles first turn soft and then completely disappear within two to four weeks, depending on their size at the time of treatment. Since chemical castration is painless, leaves no scars, and the testicles dissolve gradually, boys who are neutered at a very young age may not even realize that they have been castrated until they are older and someone points out that they have no testicles. If all of their close friends are also eunuchs, so that they dont discover testicles when they play together or spend the night together on sleepovers, young boys may not realize that they have been neutered for some time. Possibly not until they are invited to a party to celebrate the neutering of one of their friends or even, in rare cases, until they are 12 or 13 years of age and ask questions about what is happening to some of their classmates as they enter puberty. Older boys may request that their friends be present either to observe or to aid in performing their castration. If your boy knows that he is to be neutered, you may want to ask him if he would like to invite some of his friends to celebrate the occasion. You may even want to plan a neutering party, a festive occasion where several friends may be castrated at the same time, while surrounded by more friends. There are advantages and disadvantages in choosing any particular age. You will need to determine the optimum age for your own boy, as it is in many ways a personal choice that parents must decide upon for the benefit of their child. Castration performed before puberty with Neutersol Pediatric, or performed very soon after the beginning of puberty with Neutersol Adult, will result in obtaining the maximum health benefits and maximum extension of life expectancy. If the neutering takes place well before the beginning of puberty, it may result in retention of a soprano voice if the boy decides against beginning a small maintenance dose of Androgel once he reaches the age of fourteen or fifteen. The major disadvantage of neutering a boy before puberty would be greater difficulty in gaining strength and muscle mass should he not use Androgel. Unless there is a strong reason for wishing the boy to become fertile and to bank sperm for future use before he is neutered, most people now believe that the ideal time for castration is between ten and twelve years of age if full health benefits are to be enjoyed. If you are undecided about the ideal age at which to castrate your boy, you should talk with his pediatrician and/or his school nurse. There are also many publications available that discuss the relative advantages and disadvantages of castration at various ages. Within recent years, the topic has been frequently written about in popular magazines as well as in scholarly journals and any recent book on infant and childcare or on family health will discuss the issue. For those parents who feel it important that their son bank sperm before he is neutered, the average age for castration is fifteen or sixteen. Rarely is it necessary to wait until a boy is as old as seventeen before castrating him and sometimes a proper sample can be obtained from a fourteen year-old boy. Neutering a boy after the beginning of puberty with Neutersol Adult will result in greater muscle mass, a deeper voice, and a rougher, more angular appearance to his features. A small maintenance dose of Androgel is highly recommended for any boy castrated after the beginning of puberty. This will help him to maintain his existing muscle strength and to avoid any possibility of later osteoporosis. Castration with Neutersol Adult can be performed simply and inexpensively with assistance from one of the young mans friends. Frequently it is planned as the focal point of a date with his girlfriend. While certainly possible, performing the procedure on yourself is not recommended. Some men who were not neutered at an earlier age decide on the procedure as late as their forties or fifties, although the health benefits are much smaller at such a late age. Before using Neutersol Pediatric on any boy after his eleventh birthday, you should consult a doctor or have him checked by his school nurse to make certain that he has not yet entered puberty. Once puberty has begun, most commonly not until the twelfth or even thirteenth year, Neutersol Adult should be used instead. Their larger size and the increased hormone levels within the testicles require a different formulation for them to wither and dissolve rapidly. Use of Neutersol Pediatric on testicles that have entered puberty will usually provide for a full castration, but it will be slower and much less effective than with the use of the Neutersol Adult formula. They may even require a second injection with Neutersol before they will completely disolve. Please read the information at the bottom of this sheet before purchasing Neutersol Adult for any home castration. It provides essential information about selecting the appropriate size home castration kit for your needs. Neutersol Pediatric is simple and easy to use. It requires less than 30 minutes to neuter a young boy, including all preparation time. The procedure may easily be performed by any adult, with no prior training required. Please read the instructions through completely and make certain that you understand them thoroughly before beginning the castration. 1). The castration should, ideally, take place in a very warm room. 85° to 95° will provide the best results. If a cooler room is used, an electric hot pad may be used, if necessary, to properly relax the scrotum (the skin sac holding the testicles). The boy to be neutered should be undressed, at least from the waist down, and placed on a bed or table with his legs dangling over the edge. A boy still young enough to be wearing diapers may be castrated on his changing table as part of a regular diaper change. It is usually easiest for you to stand between the boys legs to perform the castration. For younger boys and infants, it may be helpful to have another adult present to hold the boy steady as you neuter him. You will probably require no assistance to castrate a boy who is at least five or six years of age, especially if the cas tration is performed during a neutering party with friends and relatives present to help the boy celebrate the event. 2). If the room is cool and the boys scrotum is holding the two testicles too tightly against his body for you to be able to grasp them easily, an electric hot pad may be draped over the lower body for a few minutes to relax and loosen the scrotum. You should be able to put your index finger and thumb around both the penis and the base of the scrotum and stretch the skin tightly over the two testicles so that they can be held steady as you work. 3). Once the boy is properly positioned and ready to be castrated, tear open the plastic safety wrapping and place the enclosed plastic tray with the two Neutersol Pediatric syringes where you can reach them easily while you perform the castration. 4). Grasp the boys entire set of genitals, penis, scrotum and testicles, with the thumb and forefinger of one hand and stretch them so that the skin is tight over the testicles and that you can hold them steady as you work. That way you can easily stick the needles through the skin of the scrotum into each of the testicles. 5). Take one of the syringes with your other hand and, holding the barrel between your thumb and fingers, push the needle full length into the center of one of the testicles. The needle should be pushed in as far as possible in one smooth movement. There will be far less discomfort if you insert the needle quickly and smoothly than if you try to do it more slowly. The needle is the right length to put the Neutersol Pediatric formula near the center of the testicle, which will result in its dissolving more quickly than if it is injected far off center. 6). Depress the plunger on the syringe to inject its entire contents into the center of the testicle. Remove the needle. Do not worry if the needle does not penetrate exactly to the center of the testicle. So long as all of the Neutersol is injected within the testicle itself, the castration will be complete. 7). Using the remaining syringe, repeat steps 5 and 6 with the other testicle. 8). OPTIONAL: Briefly massage the scrotum and testicles. This helps both to minimize any discomfort from the needle pricks and to speed the process of dissolution of the testicles. 9). Replace the two syringes in the plastic tray and slide them into the box for easy and safe disposal. 10). Congratulations, your home castration is now complete and the boy may dress and return to any normal activities. You should check the progress of the castration in two or three weeks by massaging the testicles. They should feel soft and mushy and have no pain sensations. Depending on their size, they will completely dissolve and disappear in one to two months. Should either testicle remain firm and sense pain after two weeks, you can either repeat the chemical castration with Neutersol Pediatric or ask your physician to perform a surgical castration of the boy. Properly injected, Neutersol Pediatric has a failure rate of less than one boy per thousand. Selecting the proper size NEUTERSOL ADULT for home use Once a boy enters puberty, both the size and the hormonal content of his testicles changes. After puberty begins, you will have better and faster results if you use Neutersol Adult formula. To neuter any boy after his eleventh birthday, you should first have him examined by a physician or school nurse to determine if he has begun puberty. If he has entered puberty (or for adult castrations), please read the section below to help you choose the proper size Neutersol Adult home castration kit for your use. If you are planning a neutering party where more than one of the participants is to be castrated, be certain that every boy who is scheduled to be neutered is examined before purchasing the Neutersol which you plan to use. You may wish to consider a Neutersol Party-Pak for the celebration. Party-Paks are designed for three castrations and are priced equal to two single packages. The Party-Paks are available both for Neutersol Pediatric and for Neutersol Adult in Youth Size. Neutersol Adult comes in three sizes to properly provide castration for testicles of different sizes. They differ both in the length of the needle to reach the center of the testicle and the amount of Neutersol Adult in the syringe. Each is designed to optimally dissolve a range of testicle sizes. If you are uncertain of the size of the testicles of the older boy or adult male whom you wish to castrate, you can purchase an inexpensive Testimeter at any drug store that carries Neutersol. The Testimeter consists of a soft plastic rod with several testicle-shaped beads molded on it. These can be compared to the size of the testicles which you want to remove in order to determine whether you need to purchase the Youth, Regular, or Large size Neutersol Adult home castration kit. Many boys who hope that they will eventually be neutered purchase a Testimeter for their own use. That way they can easily follow their own progress of testicle growth in preparation for the time that their testicles will be either surgically removed through bilateral orchiectomy or injected with Neutersol. They know that viable sperm is seldom produced before testicles reach 12 cc although sometimes there is not viable sperm until they have reached 15 cc. These boys know that they can begin asking for viability testing once their own testicles have reached 12 cc. Given the choice, most boys prefer Neutersol to surgical castration once they have made their sperm deposits and are ready to be neutered. The plastic testicles on the Testimeter are 3, 5, 8. 12, 15, 20, and 25 cc. in size. The Youth size kit of Neutersol Adult may be used to dissolve testicles from 4 cc up to 15 cc in size and is most frequently used to castrate boys from about 12 to 15 years of age. The Regular kit is for testicles from 12 to 25 cc and may be used for most adults and for some boys as young as 13 or 14 whose testicles grow faster than normal. The Large kit is suitable for testicles over 20 cc and is necessary for testicles over 25 cc in size. The overlapping sizes allow both for less needed accuracy in measurement and for the slightly different sizes of the two testicles on a normal male. Boys usually begin puberty with testicles that are 3 to 4 cc in size and their testicles usually reach 15 cc by about the age of 14 or 15 years. Any testicle that has reached 5 cc in size (the second bead on the Testimeter) has clearly entered puberty and requires the use of the formula in Neutersol Adult to perform a proper castration. Some boys with smaller testicles may also have entered puberty, though a doctor or school nurse could easily determine this. A few adult males will have testicles in this smaller size range of up to 15 cc and you should use the Neutersol Adult home castration kit in the Youth size in order to properly dissolve them. Most adult testicles are 15 to 25 cc in size, as are those of some older boys. They require the Regular size home castration kit. Only about 10 percent of uncastrated adult males have testicles larger than 25 cc in size, a very few as large as 30 cc or more. They require the Neutersol Adult home castration kit in the Large size for a quick and efficient castration. A Regular size home castration kit may be used for these larger testicles, although the larger testicles may require two to three months to dissolve and for the castration to be complete. Use of the Large kit is highly recommended for all testicles of over 25 cc. Neutersol Adult is as simple and easy to use as Neutersol Pediatric and the instructions are the same as those above, except for Step 4. Instead of grasping the entire set of genitals, as you would for a small boy, with older boys who have begun puberty and for adults, you would put your index finder and thumb around the base of just the scrotum, stretching the skin tightly over the two testicles. This way, your other fingers will keep the penis out of your way as you work. For boys who are being castrated before they begin puberty as well as for those who have only recently begun it and still have a small penis and relatively small testicles it is easier to encircle both the penis and the scrotum. The penis will be small enough that it will not interfere with your access to the testicles or otherwise get in the way of the castration. Larger testicles, those of a boy in late puberty or an adult male, may require as long as three or more months to completely dissolve. Both adult male testicles and those of older boys may continue to produce viable sperm for a week or more after the injection of Neutersol Adult and to produce Testosterone for even longer. If you require a quicker sterility and immediate cessation of Testosterone production with your adult castration, surgery is still recommended over chemical castration for adults and older boys. While not as simple or painless as a Neutersol, bilateral orchiectomy is simple, routine surgery and requires no more than two or three days for recuperation. Six year-old boys have a fascination for these huge creatures whose line became extinct millions of years ago. This party designed for four to ten boys begins with a three-dimensional invitation card and continues with decorations and party favors of multi-colored dinosaurs. There are instructions for several party games that the boys can play as well as suggestions for food and even music for the party. Simple dinosaur-themed recipes are included. Included on the site is a short childrens book which can be personalized and then downloaded and printed out for each of the boys at the party. Garth was the only boy neutered at his party, but in the snapshots you can see the other boys looking on enviously as he is injected with Neutersol. Jason, age twelve, helped to design his own neutering party around his favorite sport and he was able to invite his entire Little League team to participate. Our sample baseball party is designed for fourteen boys, ages ten to twelve. Jason is the son of one of our employees, and he began to work with our design department to create his neutering party nearly six months in advance. He helped the designers to create five different invitation cards for you to choose from. Jason had expected that he would be the only one to be neutered at his party, but one of his friends on the team convinced his parents to allow him to join Jason and also be castrated during the party. He had already been scheduled for a surgical bilateral orchiectomy, but argued that it would be better for him to be castrated at a Neutersol party with all of his friends present rather than in a sterile doctors office. Skateboards Teenaged boys today seem almost to be permanently attached to their skateboards. Steve began planning his neutering party long before he was able to provide a viable sperm sample. The very day that he was able to bank his first specimen he asked his parents to set the date for his party. It was mid-winter, but they all agreed that a Saturday afternoon in late spring would be ideal for a neutering party. Steve asked his friends to save the date. Three of the boys had testicles of between 12 and 15 cc and required Neutersol Adult in the Youth Size. Steves testicles had already reached nearly 18 cc, however, and required Neutersol Adult in the Regular Size. The product leaflet is ascribed to Unimed Pharmaceuticals®, the makers of Androgel and successor company to the original manufacturer of ChemCast, a veterinary drug that was used to castrate cattle by a single injection into each testicle. Gonex has been field tested on dogs and human trials are set to begin soon. Norelin has completed successful human trials (for prostate cancer) and FDA approval is expected by the end of this year. Somehow the attribution of Neutersol to Unimed seems right for story purposes, even though it is actually produced by Addison Biological Laboratory Inc. So far, the drug is available only through veterinarians, although the intent is to eventually make it available to local animal shelters where volunteers may be trained in its use.
