Can I?
Testicles, Penis, Nullification, Minor Feedback welcome at stefan _ is _ me _ 09 (at) hot mail dot com A (very) short story.. ___________ "Mom, can I have a bag of peanuts?" Frank rolled his eyes at his little brothers first act of begging of the afternoon as their mom reluctantly bought the smallest bag available. It was sure to be followed by plenty more. He figured the little bastard got all the breaks, while he himself was ordered to 'man up' by various uncles. Hell, he had gone through 6 girlfriends already. What more did they want? And here he was, with his happy, jolly family at the fucking fair, instead of playing suck-my-tounge with Carol. He stuffed his hands into his baggy jeans and squeezed his cock, thinking about it. Kevin was half way through the peanuts when the next obvious demand came. "Mom, can I have a coke?" Kevin could barely squeak the words out, so partched was he from the heat and the salty peanuts. Much as he would like to ignore it all, not wanting to be here in the first place, Frank grabbed a couple of cans from a vendor near by. He was thirsty too. "Thanks, Frank", Kevin smiled up at him, still showing boyish awe for a big brother that treated him like shit. Frank was lucky that his brother was still blind to this fact. He knew, though, it was only a matter of time before the kid grew some balls and started to fight back. "Can we get a strip of ride tickets, Mom? I'm gonna need at least 40..." Kevin hopped in front of the ticket kiosk, holding out his hands for money from Mom, the Magical Money Machine. "How old are ya, Kid" muttered the rough, sleezy-looking, cagey carney in the kiosk. "11, and my brothers 14. Mom aint gonna ride. She's a pussy! Ow!!" Cindy shook her hand in pain after cuffing her youngest upside the head. "God damn, Kevin, where the hell did that come from?" She wiped her face, not for the first time that day. The greasy carnival-food fumes were ruining her makeup. She may as well let the kid have 40. Frank, delighted with the scene, added a "Nice job, Kevin" as he took the money from his mom and made the ticket purchase. Kevin rubbed his head, muttering to himself. He really didn't know the double-connotation of the word, and was rightfully pissed at the seeming random smack from Mom, but recovered fast, as boys do. "Mom, can I ride the Spinner? Come on!" _ _ _ _ _ At the circus, it's always a hundred degrees in the shade. Unbearable in the sun. The oily, sweetly cloying stink from the Fried Everything food-stalls by the midway sunk into everything. Every pore. It seeped in, like a dull, basso-profundo malaise through the skin of every family wandering the grounds. The usual physical manifestation, a crop of pimples for the next week on every teen in town, was accompanied by something else today, though. It's the town fathers' fault for allowing such an oddly named circus to set up, though, really. I mean, come on. Jester Babs' Cornucopic Circus of the Strange? Hadn't these hicks ever watched a single horror movie, ever? The circus was set up in a circle, which by virtue of design encouraged folks to browse in one direction through the entire fairgrounds. A layover, kind of like a pit-stop area on a race track, held the main Midway rides and seemed to have traffic both directions but the crowds in the main circular pattern seemed to all flow counter-clockwise. The oily fumes from the food stalls however spread out whichever way the wind took them. _ _ _ _ "Frank, I want to try the wack-A-troll ! Can I?" Kevin knew enough to take it easy on the rides after eating a chili-dog. Barfing sucks, especially in public. Frank, by now, was not caring so much about how badly he wanted to stay home instead of coming here. Cindy, who originally wanted to be home for supper, was ready for another go-around through the fair, despite the oily feel to her face. Kevin just wanted to keep going around until he tried every damned thing available. A row of smaller tents were just beyond the Wack-A-Troll game, with yet more friendly carnies encouraging the crowd. "First time around, buddy?" They were near the "end" of the circle, where it joined up with the entrance and the 'beginning' of the fairgrounds. Kevin, beaming a smile and glistening in sweat and the oily circus fumes, chirped a "Yep!" at the man. "Feel like being castrated? Want to be a little eunuch for your Mom and Dad?" Kevin spun around and tugged on Moms hand. "Can I get my balls cut off, Mom? Can I?" Cindy rolled her eyes and wiped her face with a handi-wipe from her purse. "How much?" The carnie held up 6 fingers. "Half a dozen ride tickets is all, Ma'am, hardly any cost at all. What's your name, son?" Frank introduced himself after Kevin, and pulled out 12 tickets. He took Kevin by the hand and walked through the tent flap. Inside was a very simple room, no seats, just a stool for the gentleman inside. Dressed immaculately in a two piece suit that had just a hint of magician-apparel design to it, he welcomed them to the circus as if he owned the place, which he did. "Take off your pants and undies, kids. Then just stand right where you are." "Jester Babs", or Mr Clay in the light of day, was not usually so abrupt, but he came to this town for a purpose. Years ago, this same podunk little burg had run his fathers' circus out of town. It was humiliating for him, and Mr Clay was now in a position of enough wealth and power to pay back that which was given to his family, so many years ago. Getting some real gypsy hoodoo involved helped significantly. His dad always had some magic in his pocket, and Babs had only increased those resources. Not that he needed much for this project. Not much at all. He did his act of mutilation as a trick. Now you see 'em, now you don't. A hankie, white for Kevin, black for Frank (the fucking fornicator). Wave the hankie artfully a few times, wrap it around their nuts, pull it away with a flourish, and voila! "There! A trick you will both remember forever," exclaimed Babs. He brought up his finger, which had a smear of oily substance that smelled like corn-dogs, and wiped it under their noses. "You're happy with no balls. It doesn't matter. You barely remember having them. You like not being masculin. Pull up your pants. Enjoy the circus!" Kevin and Frank rushed out of the tent, holding hands. "Mom! Can we please go through again? I'm hungry, and I'd like to ride the roller coaster still!" Kevin showed no signs of slowing down, but at least he was being polite. It took them two hours to get through the grounds again, and by that time, they were all stuffed with fair food. Which is an apt description of it. After one more whack at the trolls, they were ready to go home. Kevin was tired and hot, wearing just his shorts and shoes now, his shirt stuffed into moms' bag, Frank was admiring the cut of the new tight, skinny jeans he bought, that showed the world how he had no balls anymore. Kevin had a pair of bike shorts he bought with him, but hadn't changed. Cindy felt a nagging desire to walk on the other side of the pathway away from the row of tents, but the crowds kept them close. She wasn't sure why it mattered, anyway. They were right beside the last tent when the same friendly gentleman intercepted their path. "Hi there, Kevin, Frank, did you kids enjoy the circus? Looks like you have some tickets left over! How would you like me to take you in the tent, and make your cocks disappear? It's normally 12 tickets, but I'll do it for the 5 you have left. You'll never find a deal like that anywhere else." "Mom, can we pleeeeease let the man make our dicks go away? I wanna see him make my wiener disappear. Can I? He'll do us both for just 6 tickets!" Tired as he was, Kevin was up for this. Mom, half distracted by looking for her keys, nodded her assent. Mr. Clay did the same trick, astounding both the former boys with his magic. By this time tomorrow, he figured he'd have enough males completely neutered to ensure the town would die out within another generation or two. There would be some interesting things happening this weekend, that much was certain. The oil caused a very agreeable nature to settle on its victims, where they were apt to agree to just about anything. The legal mess would take years to sort out, but Mr Clay hardly cared about that. He brought up a finger with the oil on it again as he finished making their penises, the visible parts, the roots, the nerves, everything disappear, this time wiping it on their lips. Both boys made a distaseful face for a moment but then relaxed right away. "You are perfectly happy being de-sexed. You will flaunt it, proud to have nothing in your pants. You are beholden to no sex at all, neither boy nor girl. Wear tight clothes. Have no shame". Kevin went home wearing the bike shorts, jumping about, feeling the emptyness between his legs and wondering how he could stand having a dick and balls. Frank wondered what the heck was so interesting about his girlfriend before, and was trying to figure out how to break it off with her. Kissing and all that... stuff seemed kinda wierd, now. They stopped for ice cream, where Cindy had to find her cheque-book in order to buy the massive, 25-gallon icecream pail of Rocky Road that Kevin said, in passing, that he wished he had to himself at home. She was only too happy to buy it for him. She would be less amused when Monday would find her desperately trying to buy back her car, which she gave to a teenager she overheard on Sunday afternoon complaining how much she wished she had an Audi like hers. Frank and Kevin, and all the males who were so neatly fixed up by Mr. Clay, never did lose the conviction that they were happy being nullos, though. They formed a club, in fact, including only and all the eunuch victims of the circus. It had a kids play group and a teen-zone, along with an adults-only section and a seniors group that grew and grew as time went on. Eventually, it was all aduts, and finally, 60 years later, a small seniors club that included nearly everyone left in the ghost town. Empty, decrepit houses and business were all that was left, just a hundred residents remaining of the 2,000 that lived there before. Frank shuffled in his walker over to his brother and a friend who were playing gin rummy in the sun room. "What this town needs is a circus..." _________ Writer appreciates feedback.
