The Emporor and the Eunuchs
Penectomypassion Once upon a time in China, there was a glorious king. City after city fell before his army, and upon entering he married the prettiest princess in town. And to illistarte his might, he took her father and castrated him. After conquering all the cities, marrying all the prettiest princesses, and castrating all the recaltrasant lords, he decred himself Emporor. Now he had hundreds of women and could not look after them all himself, afterall he had important affairs of state to attend to. One can hardly trust ordinary soldiers to protect them. After thinking long and hard about this problem, he summoned up all the eunuchs, who, upon there alteration, were among his most loyal subjects, and asked them to guard his wives. To facilitate their task they built a prison-palace and locked all the women away. Only they and the emporor could come and go freely. Naturally they were well placed to influence policy. Overtime the eunuchs began to die, but the demand for eunuchs only grew, so royal officials turned to orphans. These defenseless young boys were sent to the chopping block. The emporors grew to trust them more and more. They were not disrtracted by fleshly passions, and being both parentless and childless they were free from the corrupting blight of nepotism. Before long he had children by the thousands. The boys were only allowed to see their mothers in a special chambre, and spent the rest of their time in another part of the palace where women were forbidden, lest they impregnate any of the queens. The eunuchs were responsible for managing this increasingly complex security system. They also were responsible for educating the princes. After many generations, under the supervision of the eunuchs, the kings became decadent. They spent their time playing tennis, having sex, and smoking opium; while, the tedious task of governing was left to the eunuchs. The souveign relaxed, and the slaves ruled. The question asks itself, who is really in control? When did the emporor cease being a master, and became a pet? My obience may make you feel powerful, but you need my obience to be powerful. Exploitation breeds dependance Power is always circular.
