It was informed that it was to become a regular house slave to one of the so-called brother Masters of the Network. A brother Master lives and works away from the Network whilst maintaining His links and being responsible for discipline of Himself and of any slaves or novices assigned to Him. Initially its task was to get to know the routines expected by its first brother Master and to serve Him to the best of its ability.

Each brother Master has His own personal style of relating to a slave and His own personal requirements. It required considerable flexibility and it was expected to adapt effectively to meeting the requirements of the brother Master to whom it was, at any particular moment, assigned.

Most brother Masters have basic expectations of slaves assigned to them just as most slaves start with a set of basic assumptions of what is likely to be expected. What that means is that, unless otherwise instructed, a slave will not make eye contact with a brother Master, wlll not initiate conversation, will kneel quietly when not required to do anything and kneel expectantly when needing to seek clarification of requirements.

Brother Masters usually make it clear whether they expect a slave to strip on arrival or to be dressed in any particular way. Some require canine behaviour, on all fours most of the time, others expect a slave to stand and walk normally. Similarly each one will indicate the form of initial greetings or reverence that is required such as kneeling to receive a special collar, going prostrate to kiss Master’s feet, socks or boots, kneeling to kiss His groin or adopting a position on the floor that presents either the slave groin or the slave butt in an open and vulnerable way.

Not all brother Masters punish their assigned slaves and certain trained and experienced brother Masters act as Corporal Masters for a set of brother Masters. Depending upon His level of experience and recognition a Corporal Master is given a level of discretion about punishment; up to that level, He simply proceeds and reports back to His supervising Master with a photograph; if the Corporal Master believes that a punishment more severe than His discretionary limit is required then He must refer the decision upwards and a decision is then taken at an appropriate level.

There are also times when a slave may seek out punishment. A slave is free to approach a Corporal Master in that circumstance but, having done so, it must accept whatever punishment that Corporal Master decides is appropriate. A Corporal Master is expected to take that responsibility seriously, to act sanely and safely and to maintain His equipment in clean and effective shape. For example, this slave submitted to one particular Corporal Master, known for His skill both at the purely physical application of instruments and for His mental approach.

This Corporal Master is Himself a disciplined member of the Network and accepts serious punishment as part of that discipline. He prepares Himself and His kit meticulously and expects a slave who submits to be similarly disciplined. Punishment is received with the slave’s naked body over a specially constructed ‘horse’ and with wrists, upper body, thighs and ankles strapped down. The Corporal Master takes His time so as to ensure that the slave receives full benefit of each stroke of the strap, tawse and cane. A slave can expect to be bleeding by the time it is released and to have marks that last quite a time.

Being talked through such a punishment is part of the experience.

Sometimes a slave will be introduced to other members of the Network in what may seem unexpected circumstances but which actually illustrate the breadth of the Network. A wide range of services are available within the Network and skilled artisans can draw on the Network’s labour force in running service businesses. For instance, this slave can think of a successful scaffolding business and of a remote pig farm run by brother Masters – fit slaves can be trained, deployed and even punished in such businesses. Most slaves – however intellectually gifted – can expect to serve part of their time in an intensely physical occupation. Sometimes slaves are transferred between town and country or between countries to give them appropriate experience of hard physical labour. Sometimes slaves whose working days are spent mainly in managerial, professional or clerical capacities are given menial labouring tasks at night, at weekends or during what seem to their vanilla colleagues to have been holidays.

This slave became aware of a particular scaffolding business when a brother Master whom it was serving employed them to scaffold His home. When it came to coffee time, He indicated that their initial coffees should be served with biscuits, condoms and lube by this slave wearing just a jockstrap and that it would then silently get into position so that each scaffolder had the opportunity to bugger it. With three of them working for two days putting the scaffolding up, and a day taking it down, it was expected to offer coffee nine times and expected to be buggered 27 times. In fact what happened was that the guys took it whenever their fancy took them – it provided a big bowl of condoms and lube and seemed to have to top them up quite often especially when they called fellow scaffolders and suggested that they might call in on their way back to the yard. The other expectation was that it would both provide plenty of water for the scaffolders to drink and receive much of it back by acting as a urinal for each one of them. Sometimes that meant taking in piss at one end whilst being fucked at the other and that could happen either way around !

Although piss is received pretty generally by slaves, at either end, the Network has a general policy against slaves receiving shit, a policy that usually extends to not cleaning up orally after anal intercourse and avoiding rimming.
