Interview with a Modifier

Questioner: Why do you call yourself a modifier instead of a cutter?

James: Because the word cutter brings to mind someone with no medical training, who may or may not know what he’s doing. I’m a trained surgeon with almost twenty years of practice behind me.

Q: What got you involved in surgical body modification?

J: Because I saw a need for my services. The medical profession is very close-minded about these things. If somebody went to their doctor and said he wanted to lose his penis or have a limb amputated, that doctor would call for a psychiatrist to find out what kind of nut he was dealing with.

I have a totally different perspective. I believe that too many things are immediately labeled without any real understanding of them. To me, it’s not sick or twisted to want body modifications. These are legitimate desires, and I think that a person has the right to modify his or her own body.

Q: Are your clients mostly men?

J: Yes, overwhelming men, and mostly gay men. I do have some women clients, but not many.

Q: What sort of modifications do you perform?

J: Well, the simplest would be a male circumcision. From there, I’ve done everything from castration and penectomy to limb amputation.

Q: Is there anything you wouldn’t do?

J: I wouldn’t do anything that would cause the death of a client. And the modification must be consensual. I’d never operate on anybody against his will.

Q: Is it sometimes difficult to know when it’s consensual, particularly in master-slave relationships?

J: Yes, definitely. I have to ask a lot of questions and use my own judgment.

Q: Could you give me an example?

J: Yes. About a year ago, a man in his mid-40s came in with a teenage boy. The boy was very effeminate. The man claimed he was the boy’s father, and the boy was 18 years old. He wanted some rather extreme modifications made, including sexual nullification of the boy.

Well, I wasn’t born yesterday, so I told him that I didn’t believe him. The man asked to speak with me privately, so we went into the next room. There he admitted they were actually lovers, and the boy was really only 15. He said the boy had underdeveloped genitals and was actually more female than male, and that they both wanted him to lose his male characteristics.

When I asked why he didn’t want a complete sex-change operation, the man said he saw no need for a vagina. The boy was sexually passive and greatly enjoyed anal sex. The idea of the boy having a smooth, sexless crotch excited both of them.

I told the man that I wanted to interview and examine the boy to determine whether I would perform the modifications. He agreed, so I took the boy into the examining room and asked him to strip. The boy was very small and thin, and his speech and mannerisms were definitely feminine. His body was essentially hairless. His penis and testicles were on the small side, but not unusually so. I masturbated him to an erection, which was between 3 and 4 inches long. The boy ejaculated after a few minutes of stimulation, but only a small amount of semen came out.

After interviewing him at length, the boy confirmed everything the man told me. I could tell that he genuinely wanted these modifications, so I agreed.

Q: What modifications did you make?

J: They were pretty extreme. I removed the boy’s penis, testicles, scrotum, and prostate. Since they wanted him to almost remain thin and girlish, I also removed a rib from the both sides of the rib cage, and performed a gastric surgery that greatly reduced the size of the boy’s stomach. Lastly, I increased the size of his breasts using implants.

Q: Was the surgery a success?

J: Definitely. I’ve seen the boy for follow-up care several times, and he’s very happy with his new body. You’d never know he’d ever been a boy. He’s a slim girl who dresses in a very feminine way, and uses makeup. Other than the fact that he has no female sex organs, the boy is really a girl now. And his lover is extremely happy with the changes.
